E-claims are on the rise, according to research released by insurance technology solutions provider RebusIS.

Of those polled, 38% said online claims were "very important" to the success of their business.

RebusIS has been working closely with HSBC Insurance Brokers to roll out ClaimsNET, a global claims application designed for international insurance intermediaries, pioneered by HSBC's Construction Division, under managing director, Philip Lazell.

ClaimsNET is linked into Brokasure Enterprise (the RebusIS London Market Broking solution), to give HSBC Insurance Brokers an end-to-end application.

HSBC Insurance Brokers' IT Director, Bernard Bazley, who is looking to roll out the application globally, with upcoming sites including Hong Kong and Dubai, said: "ClaimsNET has the power to make a rapid and tangible difference to an intermediary's bottom line; we have already reduced our frictional costs, and our clients feel empowered by their ability to track claims online. Errors that normally run at 20% could potentially be halved."
