First Direct has launched an online home-insurance service, Home Cover.

It can be accessed through the First Direct website ( firstdirect.com ) and enables customers to create their own policies, tailored to their individual requirements – from basic cover to a fully comprehensive package.

“Replacement as new” cover is provided as standard and an extensive range of add-on features is also available, including personal belongings and accidental damage protection.

New customers will be offered an introductory saving of up to 20% on all policies taken out through the site.
