Angel Fine Art & Specie (FAS), a division of the Lloyd's broker London Special Risks, launched an online underwriting system for brokers.

Brokers who have been approved by Angel FAS will be able to place fine art and collectables insurance for personal collections over the internet, according to the company.

Angel said brokers could obtain quotations, bind insurance, produce policy documentation and report claims over the internet, providing a 24-hour service.

The system is currently available to brokers based in the UK, Europe, the US and Australasia. Further expansion is expected in the future, said the company.

Karen Staines, marketing director at Angel FAS, said feedback so far had been positive.
