Open GI has extended its automated quote checking facility to cover home and commercial vehicle rates with Fortis.

It allows insurers to test thousands of risks in a matter of minutes prior to the release of rate updates, according to the software house.

Chaucer Insurance and Provident are the latest companies to adopt the facility for motor.

Ian Josephs, electronic business manager at Fortis, said: “We have used Open GI's automated quote checking facility to test our motor rates for over twelve months now and have seen a huge improvement in rate accuracy."

The service is available across all business lines.
