Orange has launched the "Small is Beautiful" awards to celebrate the achievements of small businesses.

The awards aim to recognise successful small business owners and celebrate the skills needed to run a small business.

Patricia Rubio, Small Business Marketing Manager, Orange UK said: "The small business sector is growing rapidly and makes an important contribution to the UK economy. The 'Orange Small is Beautiful Awards' celebrate the achievements of those people that have had the courage to set-up a small business."

An award will be given to the best male and best female entrepreneur in each of the six categories at the January 2003 ceremony. The award categories include:

·Best marketing campaign
·Best customer service
·Best performing team
·Best use of innovation and technology
·Best demonstration of entrepreneurial passion
·Excellence in exporting - supported by Trade Partners UK
·Overall man/ woman of the year
