Oval has unified its insurance broking and financial services divisions and is to run the group with one management structure.

Oval said it has scrapped its separate insurance broking and financial services operating boards.

In place, it has appointed its first ever group managing director who will be in charge of both divisions.

Jeff Herdman, who was previously managing director of Oval Insurance Broking, has taken up the new position, which has a seat on Oval's main board.

Herdman has previously worked for Willis, as managing director of Wales and regional managing director for the Midlands.

Oval chief executive Phillip Hodson said: “Jeff has worked tirelessly to help build up and integrate our various insurance broking units. I wish him well, as both divisions become even closer and stronger.”
