Over 65s can face travel premiums four times higher standard rates, according to a survey by The Reaserch Department.
"Two out of three insurers would charge a 67-year-old holidaymaker between 25% and 400% loading on standard premiums," said The Research Department.
"Some of these insurers are likely to reduce the cover offerred and increase the excess charged for medical expenses cover," the survey reported.
