Scottish motor repairer HB Panelcraft has been declared the overall winner of the first Claimsplus annual bodyshop awards.

More than 300 representatives from the Claimsplus network of bodyshops attended the event held at Manchester United's Old Trafford football ground.

HB Panelcraft of Scotland was announced as overall winner after being chosen from a field of 11 regional winners and runners-up.

Finalists were judged to have a high quality of service in terms of repairs, audit results, equipment and complaints administration.

Lorraine Wright, managing director of Claimsplus, said: “We know that the quality of our repairer network is the standard by which we will be judged. This is why we have honoured those bodyshops whose extremely high levels of service mark them out from the rest.”

Claimsplus operates from purpose-built offices in Bristol and its bodyshops handled more than 137,000 incidents in 2000.
