Professional Insurance Agents online platform taken up by brokers in Malta and Italy
Professional Insurance Agents (PIA) has launched their multi-quote & buy insurance platform via Maltese and Italian brokers.
The facility went live in Malta last week via an exclusive deal with two Maltese brokers. The polices are underwritten by HCC International.
Initially the platform will offer IT and miscellaneous professional indemnity policies, but will eventually expand into other insurance product classes and suppliers.
Karler Mears, Professional Insurance Agents managing director, said two Italian brokers representing an association of 200 brokers across Italy will be using the system to write SME business and professional risks.
The facility will initially concentrate on directors and officers and PI.
Mears said: "The struggle has always been to convince insurers and underwriters that being shown with other suppliers does not loose you business but enhances your changes of gaining more.
"We have been very lucky to have insurers and underwriters in the the UK who know how robust our system is and have supported us well.
"Our concentration in Europe will be backed up by PIA Ltd core expertise in the PII and D&O fields, together with other commercial insurances to the SME market."
