Polaris said the roll-out of its imarket system had begun, following a short delay due to technical problems.

Polaris managing director Martin McLachlan said the problems had been solved and welcome packs were now being distributed to the 500 brokers who signed up for the system during the imarket roadshows.

The company said it had intended to provide access to all registered brokers by the end of January. It said the technical difficulties meant brokers would now be added to the system in batches of 100 during February and March.

McLachlan said: "The technical faults we identified affected service availability and the insurer process for authorising brokers. We regret the delay, but while imarket is free to intermediaries, it does not reduce our responsibility to provide an efficient and responsive system."
