PowerPlace chief executive Simon Ball loses job as Towergate installs commercial director as interim head

Simon Ball, Powerplace

Towergate is hunting for a new chief executive for PowerPlace after deciding to depart with Simon Ball.

Commercial director Nick Giddings will take over in the interim. Ball follows sales and marketing director Darren Rowe out the door, who left in December and recently joined Perkins Slade.

As reported by Insurance Times, PowerPlace is also reviewing a quarter of its sales teams, 10 job roles out of 40, although there will be offers made elsewhere in the company.

Powerplace’s nine-month turnover to end of September 2011 was £1.5m, which equates to around 1% of Towergate’s group turnover.

Towergate chief executive Clive Nathan said: “Simon has provided valuable input into the strategic direction of PowerPlace and we thank him for his contribution. We wish him well for the future.”
