The chain involving broker Preston Whiteside is subject to a Serious Fraud Office (SFO) inquiry after police carried out raids on eight brokers in South Yorkshire and Leicestershire yesterday.
The SFO is leading an investigation spanning three police forces in connection with an alleged fraud.
An SFO spokeswoman said police investigators have searched offices in Northern Ireland, South Yorkshire and Leicestershire as part of the investigation but no arrests have been made. She said the visits related to the investigation into Preston Whiteside, Preston Whiteside Underwriting and Preston Roberts.
Police said £3.5m worth of premiums might have gone missing, which represented uninsured risk of up to £1bn.
