PRI Group has poached four top staff from the Aon-owned Alternative Market Operation's Special Risk Services (SRS) division.

SRS managing director Eddie Barnes is due to start work at the new liability insurer on 1 October.

Angus Ogg, SRS's director of underwriting, joined PRI on 1 August.

SRS underwriters Mary O'Neil and Anne Catherine Grant joined him.

Sources said SRS's size had been greatly reduced over the past year, with a number of staff departures.

The news follows the defection of Markel International's legal expenses underwriter Terry Mason to PRI last week.

PRI has also poached executive Richard Candy from Abbey Legal Protection. He joins his ex-colleague Leo Gibbons, who left Abbey back in April, and joined PRI in August this year.
