Primary Group's agricultural insurer, Rural Insurance, is to provide a discount to members of the RSPCA's animal welfare scheme.
Under the arrangement members of the RSCPA scheme, called Freedom Food, will receive a 10% discount on all standard policy rates.
Primary claims over 250 brokers will benefit through being able to offer the discount.
Rural Insurance managing director Lance Harvey said: "Today's increasing demand for welfare friendly products is a clear reflection of growing consumer concern about the way in which farm animals are reared and food is produced.
"Freedom Food is a unique organisation that has specific standards for animal welfare, created by the RSPCA, for all the main species of animals farmed for food.
"We have analysed the impact of the RSPCA Freedom Food welfare standards and, our data clearly shows that the application of good standards for something like transportation has a direct and beneficial impact on fatal injury claims."
Freedom Food chief executive Leigh Grant said: "We welcome the initiative from Rural Insurance. Their findings regarding the reduction of risk are really encouraging."
