Herdman left the Oval group last year following a shake-up at chief executive level

Prism Network has appointed former Oval executive director Jeff Herdman as a non-executive chairman.

Herdman joins the national disaster recovery company with more than 28 years’ experience in the insurance and financial services industries.

Prism Network’s managing director Mark Orton said: “We’re delighted to welcome Jeff on board.

“His portfolio and experience is second to none, and we are confident he will be able to take a holistic view of our growth strategy, and help us achieve our ambitions.”

Herdman left the Oval Group last year following a shake-up at the top that saw the then group chief executive Philip Hodson step aside, to be replaced by his deputy Peter Blanc.

He has been brought in to help increase its market share and accelerate its growth.

Herdman added: “Working with Prism Network is an exciting challenge for me. I was instantly attracted to its proposition; it is a dynamic young company that’s really going places.

“I particularly liked the way that it is changing the customer experience, both the end consumer as well as the insurer/broker. I believe I will be able to contribute significantly to its continuing success.”
