Prudential General Insurance has launched a travel insurance product with no restrictions on new-for-old replacement.
A spokesman said free telephone or internet quotes were available and that the policy guaranteed a replacement of lost or stolen items on a new-for-old basis.
"Of the travel insurers that do operate new-for-old policies, many place restrictions on the age of the item being replaced. Prudential travel insurance places no such restrictions," the spokesman said.
Prudential travel cover was previously available as an add-on for existing Prudential home insurance customers. The new product offers annual multi-trip and single trip cover.
