The administrator of The Accident Group (TAG) has been criticised by the solicitor working on behalf of the former employees for spending the remaining assets.
TUC representative Bryan Slater declared that PWC was wasting funds keeping TAG in administration and said the company should apply for immediate liquidation, according to a report in the weekend's Financial Times.
About £1.2m of the assets will be shared between preferential creditors, but most of the unsecured creditors will receive nothing.
Slater said: "This process has been running for months and PWC is spending money hand over fist.
"The cost of running the administration is far too high in relation to the size of the assets."
