QBE International Insurance has launched its new internet-based underwriting system, "Kylie", into North America, to help it manage Affinity Group's recreational vehicle insurance.

QBE, which underwrites Affinity's recreational vehicle insurance, said the solution was being deployed nationwide across the franchise.

Kylie, which was developed in conjunction with FirstBaseIT, connects sales, marketing, administration, claims and underwriter through a single system. It also integrates with legacy systems, which removes the policy inception-to-insurer time lag, QBE said.

Kylie is expected to allow Affinity to concentrate on key issues, such as risk management, product positioning and customer service.

FirstBaseIT sales & marketing director Austen Slattery said: "Kylie represents our most complete internet deployment to date.

"We believe that with the straight-through processing, enabled through Kylie, QBE International Insurance has achieved an insurance ideal".

FirstBaseIT is a boutique IT house which focuses entirely on e-business. Its products and services are targeted at the B2B Insurance sector, and aim to facilitate Straight Through Processing for Multi-Site/Franchised locations.
