QuestGates has launched a disease claims handling operation in conjunction with BAI Claims Services (BAICS).

QuestGates BAI will initially focus on asbestos-related claims and will incorporate full claims handling if necessary.

BAI's Chester office has become part of the QuestGates branch network.

QuestGates managing director Chris Hall said: “This agreement is further evidence of our commitment to identify and develop services in areas where insurers have a need for technical expertise to assist their claims operations. We will now be able to offer insurers a highly experienced and cost effective alternative to the appointment of solicitors, whether the need is for complete handling of industrial disease claims or investigations to support their own specialist departments.”

John Goodwin, managing director, BAICS commented: “The expertise of the BAI team in the handling of disease claims has long been recognised in the construction and insurance world. With asbestos related claims not due to peak until nearly 2020, according to HSE predictions, it was essential that we expand our facility yet retain our specialist expertise. The partnership with QuestGates enables us to continue to provide specialist claims handling whilst utilising the national investigative skills of our new colleagues to the benefit of all our clients.”
