Slater & Gordon confirms offer for personal injury files, but says talks for larger unit are at an early stage

Australian law firm Slater & Gordon is completing due diligence on personal injury case files that it wants to obtain from Quindell.

The case files would be handed over in the coming months, Slater & Gordon said today. The file transfer is “not material”.

Slater & Gordon confirmed that it is in exclusivity talks with Quindell about buying one of its divisions, which Insurance Times understands is the legal services operation.

However, Slater & Gordon stressed that the talks were “preliminary and incomplete” and it had not submitted any offer beyond getting hold of the personal injury case files.

Quindell’s share price leapt 15% yesterday on the rumours.
