New name unveiled

Quinn Insurance will cease trading under that name from November 4 and relaunch as Liberty Direct, according to reports in local Northern Irish media.

The Anglo-Celt newspaper says that the company will resume trading under the name Liberty Direct on the following Monday, November 7.

The name change was agreed following a breakthrough in negotiations with bondholders at the weekend, according to the paper, which Cavan where the insurer’s headquarters is based.

A spokeswoman for Quinn Direct told The Anglo-Celt: “We are on track and the sale is expected to conclude in the coming weeks.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
