Disaster management specialist, Rainbow International, has launched a flood warning service for insurers.

Rainbow claims the 24-hour internet service will help insurers predict claim surges. The system sends the latest information on potential floods by e-mail to Rainbow International clients on a daily basis.

Rainbow International national account manager Adrian Morton said: "The flood update has received a very favourable response from insurers and loss adjusters.

"It provides the latest information on flood hotspots across the UK and details the action we have taken and the resources we have available within each affected area.

"The service, which we believe is the only one of its kind in the UK, means clients no longer have to ring us for information - it comes to them automatically.

"The feedback from users has been excellent. It enables them to make the most efficient use of resources which ultimately helps reduce costs."
