Run-off investment specialist Randall & Quilter (R&Q) has appointed Tom Booth as chief financial officer, replacing founding CFO Alan Quilter.

Quilter will now assume the new executive position of chief operating officer.

Booth has been with R&Q since October 2009 in the role of corporate finance director and was appointed to the board as executive director in January 2011. He was previously a corporate adviser and investment banker, specialising in the non-life insurance industry.

"Tom has been instrumental in the group's evolution over the past 18 months and I look forward to working with him in his new role as we continue to grow our business in each of the four core business segments," said Ken Randall, R& Q's executive chairman and chief executive, in a statement.
