Reforms to the employers' liability (EL) market must be stepped up, insurer Royal & Sun Alliance (R&SA) declared today.
Duncan Boyle, R&SA UK chief executive and chair of the ABI liability group, said: “R&SA has been calling for EL reform for some time, and now is the time for action.”
Boyle said there were three clear areas to be addressed:
· To separate long-tail claims from short-tail claims
· To reduce the amount of money spent in legal costs
· To increase the focus on rehabilitation.
