Royal & SunAlliance (R&SA) has agreed to redraft its terms of business agreements (TOBAs) to include a non-solicitation clause.

Institute of Insurance Brokers director general, Andrew Paddick contacted Insurance Times after receiving an email this morning from R&SA UK commercial director Brendan McManus.

Paddick described the decision as “very, very pleasing”.

“It's fantastic news for brokers,” he said.

In the email, McManus said the insurer had taken the decision to reaffirm its support for brokers.

He said that the ownership of clients is not something that R&SA has ever disputed.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
