According to sources, Royal and Sunalliance's (R&SA) UK chief executive Paul Spencer is about to leave the company.
Insiders say that he will be replaced by managing director of UK commercial, Duncan Boyle, in the coming weeks.
Spencer's decision to leave has been prompted by R&SA's failure to find a credible buyer for its life and pensions portfolio, said sources.
