Hill House Hammond opens new centre
Hill House Hammond (HHH) has opened a new business insurance centre in Paisley.
It now has six centres across the UK servicing the commercial operation HHH Business.
As part of its growth strategy HHH is looking to increase its presence in the North and acquire other insurance brokers in the area.
HHH Marketing Director Bob Screen said: "We have a small team of business insurance experts in Paisley who can provide businesses with independent advice and tailor policies to suit individual needs."
DPR makes general insurance acquisitions
DPR Commercial Insurance Brokers has bought Bishopscourt General Insurance Services and the general insurance division of Fisher Financial. The two acquisitions will be integrated into DPR's Milton Keynes office by the end of this month.
DPR chairman Budge Rogers said the businesses were highly compatible with DPR, but also brought new niche market expertise and experienced, service-oriented staff.
The purchases brought DPR's annual premium turnover to £15m.
The Bank of Scotland provided the funding for the acquisitions.
DBC set to open rehabilitation clinic
Rehabilitation specialist DBC International is opening clinics across the UK.
The first will be opened in Butlers Wharf, London on 1 March, by Master of the Rolls Lord Phillips.
Allen & Allen recruits for expected growth
Allen & Allen Insurance Group is recruiting 50 new staff to cope with the growth it expects in the specialist motor market.
Human resources and training manager Giles Ashley said new business generated by the brokerage's Hyperformance, Insureyourmotor.com and Girlmotor.com subsidiaries had increased 40% since 2001.
The new recruits will work as sales and customer service operators at Allen & Allen's Hampton Hill, Reading and Islington offices.
"Insurance has traditionally had a dull image, but we're a fast-paced company dealing with performance cars, modified vehicles, young drivers and famous personalities," Ashley said.
"We're looking for individuals who want to learn and progress their career in insurance.
"In return we offer ongoing training and a competitive salary package."
