The Motor Accident Solicitors Society (MASS) is to consider a new proposal to include rehabilitation reports in the litigation process for personal injury claims.

Addressing a MASS conference last week, MASS vice chairman and head of personal injury at law firm George Ide Phillips, Tony Goff, presented proposals for changes to the Rehabilitation Code developed by the IUA and the Bodily Injuries Claims Management Association.

Goff said one of the proposals was the inclusion of rehabilitation reports within the litigation process.

He said initial rehabilitation reports should be made available to both sides of the litigation process and should be accessible by the judge.

MASS members will vote on Goff's proposals in the near future.

Oval linked to Lark on the acquisition trail

Lark Insurance Brokers has denied it has received a bid from Oval.

Market sources said “serious discussions” had taken place between the two, with Oval putting in a bid for the South East-based broker.

But Lark chairman
Graham Clark said: “We are not in talks with anyone at the moment and no one has put in a bid for the company.”

Oval chief executive Phillip Hodson said he could not comment on whether discussions with Lark were ongoing or whether a bid had been made.

He said Oval was concentrating on several acquisitions that were nearing completion.
