A report due out next week is set to call on Britain's fleet operators to rethink how they utilise the road network.

The Annua RAC motoring report, due out on Wednesday, will criticise the government over the state of Britain's roads, despite a £2bn investment plan.

The report is set to call on fleet managers to consider the health and safety implications of journeys made on 'company business'.

With 11 million employees driving on company business in the UK, the report is expected to warn of the mounting legal and insurance implications if those vehicles are uninsured or un-roadworthy.
