Software Solutions Partners (SSP) has signed a deal with over-50s intermediary RIAS to implement its integrated insurance quotation and administration solution, Insight.

RIAS will implement the system across all areas of its business including its dual site 800-seat call centre, where it will be integrated with existing telephony systems.

RIAS, a specialist and affinity general insurance intermediary for the UK's over-50s market, provides 1.5 million telephone quotes for home, motor and travel insurance a year.

RIAS IT director Andrew Boyes said:

"After a review of the whole market, we selected SSP as our IT partner on the basis that they have the best technology and a track record of successfully delivering large scale projects."

SSP chief executive David Rasche added that in relation to SSP's fight with HM Customs and Excise over it scrapping a VAT exemption that could cost the business up to £1m (News, 7 October) "as a result of prudence", SSP reserved for the VAT impact in its 31 March 2004 year-end accounts.
