Lloyd's broker RK Harrison is to open a Chester office in the autumn.

The office will focus on high net worth and commercial business.

Commercial director Stuart Rootham said the three-year target for the Chester office was annual commission income of £1m.

"Chester's a good fit for our high net worth business as it allows excellent access to the Liverpool and Manchester markets, as well as Lancashire and Staffordshire," he said.

"But we also want the Chester office to become a significant commercial business-producing office."

Rootham said RK Harrison expected to announce the new head of the Chester office in around a month.

"We're currently close to finalising the recruitment of a high-profile individual from another broker," said Rootham.

The Chester office will be staffed by around six to nine people at the outset but RK Harrison is looking to increase staff numbers in the near future.

"We're on the look out for other quality commercial and high net worth business producers," said Rootham.
