Colchester-based life insurer Royal London is set to start selling domestic pet, annual travel and health cashplan policies.

The company's 45-strong door-to-door sales force already sells household, motor and income protection policies, and will now sell Norwich Union's range of off-the-shelf products.

Spokesman Gareth Berry said that the move was to take advantage of better margins achievable in the non-life sector.

The company is also putting the finishing touches to its first non-life affinity deal. It will supply policies to 2500 working mens' clubs. It is also set to expand its motor panel.
