A deal to underwrite car insurance for Sainsburys Bank and provide a product tailored for the bank has been secured by esure.
A spokeswoman for Sainsburys Bank said esure's four-year, no claims restriction would not apply to the product and said the package included a counselling service and financial compensation for the victims of a reported road rage or car jacking incident.
Sainsbury Bank chief executive Tim Pile said: "It will present a challenge to the industry, which we see as becoming increasingly polarised between those companies that offer cheap premiums and those which provide more comprehensive cover."
