Online salvage market SalvageSale is set to announce an alliance with a "leading player" in the UK claims sector.
Chairman and chief executive Daniel Parsley said an announcement was imminent.
Parsley said the alliance was being designed to help insurers change their methods of operating. The alliance would help insurers reduce their loss ratios, while firms could obtain a better price for their goods.
Many insured companies still retain salvaged goods after negotiating with their insurer, he said.
SalvageSale runs a website allowing companies to bid for commercial salvage, thus reducing claims payments by insurers.
