Gary Bratt joins Bruce Stevenson Risk Management

Scottish broker Bruce Stevenson Risk Management (BSRM) has hired Gary Bratt, an engineer in renewable energy technology.

The company said Bratt’s appointment will enhance the services it provides to the renewable energy market.

“I am able to add another dimension of understanding of renewable projects and their associated risks from an engineering perspective,” Bratt said in a statement. “This allows Bruce Stevenson to make a more rounded and informed evaluation of insurance requirements.”

Derek Skinner, renewable energy director at BSRM, added: “It is vital that we understand the technologies being introduced to the UK renewables sector to make these insurable and bankable. Our role is to understand the risks associated with developing renewable projects and finding insurance solutions.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
