Scottish broker Crosbie & Jack has posted a surge in premium turnover to £14m following the acquisition of consultancy Johnstone Rose.
Announcing details of its tie-up with the insurance consultancy, managing director Gordon Crosbie said the broker is also examining fresh acquisitions.
He said: "We intend to be a key player in the market and if the right opportunity comes along, geography will not be an issue. We are in talks with several other Scottish brokers."
"We are looking to grow in a structured fashion, finding potential partners that share our strengths."
