Polaris has announced that software specialist Sectornet has agreed to partner its imarket industry initiative.

Under the arrangement Sectornet will provide know-how and back-up to the electronic trading portal, which links insurers and intermediaries.

Sectornet Chairman Bernie Conlon said: "Initially we will provide a click-thru from Sectornet to the imarket Services Index via a hyper-link.

"We are already working with Polaris on the data standards for commercial risks. Also on Day one we plan to enable document and PDF storage from insurer extranets onto our brokers' own system."

Polaris Managing Director Martin McLachlan said: "If all goes well we plan to deliver an initial software house integration solution as part of our phase two activity, which could see implementation during the first half of 2004."
