Tendering process begins for supplier of new messaging system.

Lloyd’s has compiled a shortlist of technology providers to develop a new electronic messaging system.

The shortlist for the pilot programme is thought to include IBM, Xchanging, SwiTT, Tibco and Atos.

A Lloyd’s spokesman confirmed two weeks ago that Lloyd’s had begun a tendering process with software providers to create a central hub to exchange electronic messages.

This week, the spokesman added: “This is only a pilot at the moment. We currently have a shortlist and, if the pilot is successful and we decide to proceed, we will announce the successful bid.

“We are not commenting on individual suppliers which may be on the current shortlist.”
