Harrogate-based national insurance broker Smart & Cook has completed the purchase of Bath broker Kallender Jeffries, its 51st acquisition.
Kallender Jeffries specialise in the motor trade and employ over 30 staff.
Paul Meehan, group chief executive of Smart & Cook, said: “As a result of this purchase we have now a regional base in the south west, which we can use as a platform for further acquisitions."
In 2004 the company raised a £57m ‘war chest' to fund further growth, including a major investment in Smart & Cook by 3i, Europe's leading venture capital firm.
It has made 51 acquisitions in the last 16 years – a growth strategy which has seen annualised revenues increase to £40m.
