PI affinity scheme specialists SMG Professional Risks are to join Towergate Underwriting Group.
Towergate will place their acquisition in their MIA General Insurance Division, which offers PI schemes to medical professionals.
Chairman and chief executive of Towergate Underwriting Group, Peter Cullum said: "Towergate has a growing presence in the Medical Professional Indemnity Market and the SMG Professional Risks portfolio further extends our expertise in this area."
SMG Professional Risks will continue to operate under its own name.
