Patrick Snowball has been promoted to Aviva director for all general insurance. That means as well as looking after the UK, Snowball will now manage Aviva's general insurance operations in Canada, Ireland and Asia.
The move means a shake up in the board of Norwich Union Insurance in the UK. Claims head Simon Machell has been given responsibility for operations and becomes customer services director.
Marketing director Bridget McIntyre takes responsibility for retail and corporate partnerships with current corporate partnerships director Graham Boffey reporting to her.
Current head of retail Cathryn Riley becomes managing director of healthcare.
Broking services remain unaffected.
