Insurer moves from the Isle of Wight where it has been based since 2001

Affinity insurer SPB is moving its head office from the Isle of Wight to Portsmouth.

SPB has been based on the island since 2001, but will move its head office to the south coast from the beginning of November.

The specialist mobile technology insurer has seen staff numbers double over the past six months, and the new Portsmouth office is opening to accommodate this expansion.

Managing director Colin Whitehair said: “We are very pleased to be expanding into the new offices – Portsmouth is a fantastic location. The island served the business well for over a decade and we are delighted that so many of our staff have chosen to stay with us in Portsmouth.

“We have big plans for the future, and we need to support further growth with strategic partners. We will be looking to employ more staff from the local Portsmouth area.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
