Standard & Poor's (S&P) has affirmed its rating for Marsh & McLennan, but has revised the outlook from stable to negative, revealed a report.

It said S&P has given Marsh an `AA-` counterparty credit rating.

"The revised outlook reflects Standard & Poor's concern that the adverse effect of the publicised legal actions instituted by the state o Massachusetts and the SEC against its subsidiary, Putnam Investments," said S&P.
