Davies in Ireland Davies Group has moved into Ireland, joining forces with Anna Maria Courtney of Limerick-based Courtney Loss Adjusters to form a liability company, Davies Courtney Loss Adjusters.

PMI packageMedical insurer WPA has launched Professional Health. The PMI package will offer professionals premium reductions of up to 70% by building in larger excesses. WPA is offering brokers a 35% commission on initial sales.

Liberty increase Lloyd's managing agency Liberty Syndicates has announced a 31% increase in its capacity for Syndicates 190 and 282, reaching a total of £793m for 2004.

Equitas claimsClaims paid at Equitas - the company set up to reinsure and run off pre 1993 liabilities for Lloyd's - amounted to £357m in the six months ended 30 September 2003. Equitas warned it may have to increase its reserves against asbestos claims for the fourth time in five years.

Lambert departureHead of project risks at Heath Lambert John Forder has left the company to join rival Willis. A Heath Lambert spokesman denied that Forder would be joined at Willis by other members of the project risks team.

RiskSmart dealRiskSmart has signed a deal with Lloyd's broker Thompson Heath & Bond. The intermediary will promote RiskSmart's FireSmart and HealthandSafetySmart online risk assessments to its network of brokers.
