Aviva office review
A review of Aviva's six million sq ft of office space could result in a major shake up in how the company's property portfolio is managed.

The insurer is looking at ways of improving the efficiency of hundreds of office buildings spread across the UK.

It has authorised a strategic review to be carried out by Deloitte & Touche.

The report, to be delivered later this year, could recommend outsourcing the management of buildings or transferring ownership of the portfolio to a specialist property company.

New Brit chairman
Brit Insurance Holdings has appointed Ken Culley as non executive chairman of its subsidiary company, Brit Insurance Ltd.

Culley has been a non-executive director of

Brit Insurance Ltd since February 2000.

Atrium boost
Atrium is to boost its general aviation underwriting.

Atrium's Syndicate 609 is increasing its capacity by 12.5% to £180m for 2004.

Most of the extra business is likely to be written by the syndicate's new aviation underwriter, ex-Hardy man and general aviation specialist, John Spence.

Blanc at Groupama
Amanda Blanc (pictured) has joined Groupama as director of sales, agency and businessdevelopment. She replaces John Morrell who has left the company. Blanc was AXA northern regional manager.

AXA has made an interim appointment to replace her. Karen Osborne, currently area manager for Leeds and Sheffield, will act as regional director north.

Clive Nathan, AXA's regional director south, has also left the company. His position is being covered by Martyn Grime, area manager for Ipswich, with responsibility for the southern region.

Personal rebrand
Personal lines specialist Primary Direct is to rebrand itself as Primary1 with effect from this month.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
