Cabinets cut claims
To reduce motor trade thefts, Allianz Cornhill is giving its policyholders high-security key filing cabinets. The insurer said that the Securikey cabinets, which are available in five sizes and can hold up to 300 keys, have been introduced to encourage motor traders to take their security more seriously. It said that since introducing the scheme, theft claims from its motor trade policyholders have decreased by 28%.

Goodhealth entry
Goodhealth Worldwide, the international health insurance provider, is to enter the UK private medical insurance sector. Goodhealth's UK branch will sell its products via brokers. It intends to launch a range of comprehensive plan options aimed at smaller groups and individuals. Derry Andrews, who was previously managing director of Clinicare, will head the new operation.

Hanks at Camberford
Lloyd Hanks, group agency manager for Groupama, has left the company to join Camberford Law. Peter Williams will succeed Hanks, who has been with Groupama since 1999. Williams will assume operational responsibilities for business development, the Groupama sales team and agency matters. Hanks will be joining Camberford Law in a senior new business development role.

Redditch buy-up
Martin and Pethard, the Redditch-based insurance broker, has acquired David Vaughan Insurance Brokers. This is Martin and Pethard's third major acquisition this year. Martin and Pethard has retained both David Vaughan and his wife Stephanie as consultants. David Vaughan said: "I strongly believe that being part of a larger broker will benefit our clients enormously in the longer term."
