FSA Lloyd's paperThe FSA has published a further consultation paper on its regulation of Lloyd's. The paper, CP 04/7, takes forward the concepts set out in CP178 to bring Lloyd's within the scope of the FSA's Integrated Prudential Sourcebook. Responses to the CP are sought by 30 July 2004.

CII exams a successThe CII said its Certificate in Insurance examinations, held for the first time in April, were a success, with a near 100% pass rate in two subjects and an 80% pass rate for the examinations overall.

ABI charity guideThe ABI is to publish guidance for charities on accessing the liability insurance market. The move is to address the apparently high level of misunderstanding that charities have about the insurance market

Income protectionBiba has developed an income protection scheme of up to £12,000 for UK workers against the risk of unemployment or incapacity. The policy is available irrespective of age, occupation or gender, said Biba. The product is underwritten by Bankers Insurance Company and arranged by Burgesses.

Towergate dealTowergate has built up its acquisitions war chest, adding £45m to the pool following the completion of a £85m financing deal. Towergate executive chairman Peter Cullum announced the deal with Royal Bank of Scotland, Lloyds TSB and Barclays.

MMA on TSB panelMMA has joined the household panel of Lloyds TSB Insurance (LTSBI). LTSBI head of strategic alliances Phil Oldham said: "MMA will target a specific niche within our panel and allow us to continue to quote competitively for a wider range of customers."
