The Cold Storage and Distribution Federation (CSDF) has launched an insurance facility for its members.

The facility, in partnership with Bland Bankart,
aims to provide a comprehensive service for temperature controlled storage and distribution companies.

The facility has been developed in response to the difficulties faced by its members in obtaining cover for buildings containing composite panels.

Since the start of the hard market, insurance underwriters have refused to cover composite panel buildings.

A CSDF statement said: "Temperature controlled stores are, by their very nature, lower risk and have historically a very good claims record.

"Hence, the CSDF has developed, with Bland Bankart, a dedicated facility to cater for the insurance needs of temperature controlled storage and distribution companies."
