Stuart Alexander has acquired a book of small and medium enterprise (SME) commercial lines business from SBJ Stephenson for an undisclosed sum.
The deal, between Stuart Alexander's Manchester office and SBJ Stephenson's Stockport branch, is effective from 1 July.
It includes a book of SME business encompassing a range of trades and businesses.
The business includes areas that Stuart Alexander specialises in, such as property owners and charities.
Jane Pritchard, executive director, Manchester for Stuart Alexander, said the deal would allow both businesses to concentrate on their core activities.
Pritchard was appointed by Stuart Alexander in April to head up the expansion of its Manchester office.
The office covers the Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside and Cheshire regions.
Under Pritchard's leadership it will continue to concentrate on the commercial market, but will also look to develop its high net worth operations.
