A "substantial" number of business websites are mediocre, according to a survey of the UK's top companies.
The survey of the FTSE 100 companies, by Porter Research, found that one in three of the sites contained errors that made the sites hard to use.
28 FTSE company websites were rated as "very good" or "good", but the report claimed the remaining 72, "vary from needing some substantial attention in one area or another, to needing a lot of urgent attention, to being irredeemably bad and in a state where they should be thrown away."
Report author Adrian Porter said: "It is in our view indefensible that so many sites have not been constructed to the standards which people rightly expect from our top companies."
